Class Year Needed

Sometimes we receive notice of deceased classmates without reference to the class year they graduated.  Please help us provide the correct information for these individuals.

Why are there two websites that look similar and seem to both be AHHS Alumni sites

The short answer: one website is the official AHHS Alumni Association’s site; the other website is the Harris Connect website where our database of alumni is available.

The AHHS Alumni Association website, www.ahhsalumni.org, has been in existence for many years at this address. Want information on classmates? Looking for information on reunions? Want to know the latest happenings at AHHS? Want to look back on some AHHS history or memories? This is the place!

The Alumni Association website is and will be a work in progress and has undergone a complete renovation in recent months, making it more user friendly for you and giving it a new look and more functionality. There are things that are not completely polished and links have not all been thoroughly tested, but for a volunteer effort, we're pretty proud of it! It is accessed by all, free of charge, and supported by the dues of alumni who become members of the Association. We encourage you to join our Association ($10/year or $25/3 years), but you won't be shut out of our website if you choose not to join the Association.

Confusions have come about because, coincidentally, two new websites were set up and two e-mails from two different entities were sent within the same period of time – each about the AHHS Alumni Association. Basically, The AHHS Alumni Association has a new look for this website and sent a letter from our President to introduce it. The other website was developed by Harris Connect, the folks who helped us publish our directory and now, therefore, maintain our database. They also sent out an e-mail to let you know about their website. You must register for their website which allows you to change and update your own address and other information for free. They also offer an option to subscribe to their website. If you choose, you may subscribe (pay for - $9.95/year) and have access to the rest of their website – information about other classmates and so on.

Your Alumni Association encourages you to go to the AHHS Harris Connect site to change or correct information in your own records there at no charge. This enables us to stay in touch with you and help your reunion committee contact you about upcoming plans.

My information is incorrect. How do I change it?

My address/phone number/e-mail/whatever information is incorrect. How do I change it?

You can go into your own records at Harris Connect and change your information for yourself at no cost. You just need to register with them. You don’t need to subscribe (there is a charge of $9.95/year) if you don’t choose to. If you do choose to subscribe with Harris, you will be able to access the other resources they have to offer, beyond your own records.

We'd like to be able to stay in touch with you! The records we're keeping are available to your reunion committee, so we all need to be current and up-to-date with our on line information to help each other. If we all work together, we'll all benefit!

How do I keep getting information from AHHS AA?

How do I get on the list to keep getting information from AHAA?

We’re delighted to keep you on the list! Just let us know! We'll be in contact with those whose e-mails we know (snail mail has become prohibitively expensive), so this is the key for now.

We hope you’ll be enjoying our new website with its information and new ways to connect with friends and former classmates. Feel free to let us know what you like, what you don't like, or what corrections or additions you'd like to see on the new website. We want this site to be for you!

What if I decide not to join?

You do not have to join to continue to receive news from the Arlington Heights High School Alumni Association. Our website is available to anyone, whether a member or not, and we plan to use our e-mail capabilities responsibly - for occasional newsletter highlights or special event announcements. However, we do not want to send you or anyone else unwanted e-mails – none of us likes that!!! That is why you were asked to confirm your desire to continue receiving AHHS Alumni News.

Feel free to let us know what you like about our website, what you don't like, or what corrections or additions you'd like to see. We want this site to be for you! And, as we said earlier, you won't be shut out of our website if you choose not to join the Association. But if you change your mind and you feel like supporting our efforts and projects, we would love for you to Join Us, of course!

Why start an Association now?

The AHHS Alumni Association has been in existence for 17 years and serves to celebrate memories and friendships, to help reunion committees stay current with addresses of their class members, to support projects at Heights (renovated track, renovated baseball field, renovated chairs in the auditorium, fencing along Hulen, and so on), and to award scholarships for senior students to help them with furthering their education among other things. Check out this website to learn more about us.
