Want to be a Class Rep or a Decade Rep? We'll make it easy!
In the past we had a system of communicating with the Reps, much like the old “Phone Trees” (OK, so how old does that make some of us!?). To get messages passed around efficiently before e-mail, FaceBook, Twitter, etc., we would call, say, ten people who would then call ten more people and so forth, and the word would spread. You had your list to call whenever there was a party to announce, a change of plans, or whatever. You called a few folks and all were contacted easily and in a short time.
That system of communication, applied to an organization that covers folks from 1925 to the present, means that we had Decade Reps and Class Reps to help us stay in contact with as many folks as we could. Decade Reps were responsible for ten years (the 60’s, the 70’s, etc.). They contacted the Class Reps from the years they were responsible for to keep in touch, help them with reunions and be the liaison for the Alumni Association. It worked well.
It’s time now to put that system back in place. And now it can be done with e-mails, even! We would be very much interested in getting our records updated and complete. What we have is a list of past class presidents and some folks who helped with reunions in the past. We’ve not verified and/or located many of these wonderful potential Class Reps in several years, so we hesitate to publish their names as such on our web site. But we want to!!! It would be really helpful to us to be able to have a personal contact for each of our classes to facilitate communication from and to the Alumni Association. And folks from the “Class of ….” will want to know who they need to contact for information about reunions and so forth.
Please contact us if you’re willing to be a Class Rep (or there can be a group of you, too) or if you know who is serving in that capacity (think: “Who’s in charge of our reunions?”). We’ll verify all submissions and would really appreciate it if you don’t, just for fun, send in the name of someone who really doesn’t want to have any part of this!
And if you’re willing to be a Decade Rep, we’d be really appreciative! Besides, it’s a fun way to connect (or re-connect) with those in the classes before and after yours! |
