Construction began in November to replace the grass infield with a synthetic all weather turf, move the backstop back to gain more foul territory, replace the old bleachers with new stadium style seating, and remove the chain link fence behind home plate and replace it with friendly spectator netting. There is also a storage facility being built beneath the new bleachers and replacing the press box.

 

As with any project, it would be sad not to finish it right. There are plans to build an iron and brick entrance to the baseball area, add raised bleachers just behind the first base dugout and replace the outfield chain link fence with a new blue solid metal fence, but these plans cannot be completed without additional support.  The AHHS Booster Club is spearheading an effort to raise $42,000 to complete this project.
